My maker mindset doesn’t stop when I clock out. I’m a nerd at heart with a passion for hacker and sci-fi culture: I save dead pinball machines from the junkyard, design missing mechanical parts directly in CAD for the 3D printer, or build and tune FPV drones. There are no black boxes for me—if a system blinks, executes code, or has moving parts, it gets taken apart, understood, and modded.

I had wanted to build a virtual pinball machine for a long time, and the project had been haunting my head for years. In January, by pure chance, I was able to take over a project a forum member had started and finish it. I packed in everything I could.
Eight Ball Deluxe Playfield (Bally, 1984)
Project for the Pinball Museum Eschbach. An Eight Ball Deluxe with a newly printed playfield had to be rebuilt from scratch. As always, it turned out to be a bigger operation than expected.
Shooting Arcade Cabinet
Back when there were arcade machines (seemingly) everywhere, blowing away zombies in House of the Dead was somehow always my favourite thing, and on the PlayStation 1 and so on I always loved those light gun games too! Let's do this!

The Insider Connected Kit comes with a new apron featuring pre-cut holes for the original Stern flasher lamps – but no lamps included. So I built my own: 3D-printed clip-in holders, powered via the slingshot, no permanent modifications required.

FLYNN'S Topper & Pinduino for Our TRON: Legacy Pinball
We have a Stern Tron: Legacy Pro at our pinball museum. Unlike the Limited Edition, though, it was missing that certain something. I couldn't let that stand, so I did a bit of tinkering.
